Those Whom Allah
Does not Guide |
Allah does not guide Az-zalimeen
Allah revealed the Quran to Muhammad (a.s)
as a guidance for the whole mankind.
Ramadhan is the (month) in which was sent
down the Qur'an, as a guide to mankind, also clear for
guidance and the Criterion (Between right and wrong).
[2:185] But those who do
not judge matters in accordance with what Allah revealed,
are Az-zalimoon.
Those who do not judge
in accordance with what Allah has revealed, are az-zalimoon [5:45]
Allah does not guide
Az-zalimeen.
Allah does not guide the people who are
az-zalimeen [2:258]
O YOU who have attained to faith! Do not take
the Jews and the Christians for your allies: they are but
allies of one another -and whoever of you allies
himself with them becomes, verily, one of them; behold, Allah does not guide the people who are
az-zalimeen. [5:51]
How would God bestow His guidance upon people who have resolved
to deny the truth after having attained to faith, and having borne witness that
this Apostle is true, and [after] all evidence of the truth has come unto them? For, Allah does not guide the people who are az-zalimeen [3:86]
And [likewise they declare as unlawful] either of the two sexes
of camels and of bovine cattle. Ask [them]: "Is it the two males that He
has forbidden, or the two females, or that which the wombs of the two females
may contain? Is it, perchance, that you [yourselves] were witnesses when God
enjoined [all] this upon you?" And who could be more wicked than he who, without
any [real] knowledge, attributes his own lying inventions to God, and thus leads
people astray? Behold, Allah does not guide the people who are
az-zalimeen.[6:144]
Do you, perchance, regard the [mere] giving
of water to pilgrims and the tending of the Inviolable House
of Worship as being equal to [the works of] one who believes
in God and the Last Day and strives hard in God's cause?
These [things] are not equal in the sight of God. And
Allah does not guide the people who are az-zalimeen.
[9:19]
Which. then, is the better: he who has
founded his building on God-consciousness and [a desire for]
His goodly acceptance-or he who has founded his building on
the edge of a water-worn, crumbling river-bank, so that it
[is bound to] tumble down with him into the fire of hell?
For, Allah does not guide the people who are az-zalimeen:
[9:109]
And since they cannot respond to this thy
challenge, know that they are following only their own
likes and dislikes: and who could be more astray than he who
follows [but] his own likes and dislikes without any
guidance from God'? Verily, Allah does not guide the people
who are az-zalimeen! [28:50]
Say: "See ye? If (this teaching) be from God,
and ye reject it, and a witness from among the Children of
Israel testifies to its similarity (with earlier scripture),
and has believed while ye are arrogant, (how unjust ye are!)
truly, Allah does not guide the people who are
az-zalimeen." [46:10]
And who could be more
ZALIM than one who
invents [such] a lie about [a message from] God, seeing that
he is [but] being called to self-surrender unto Him? But
Allah does not guide the people who are az-zalimeen.
[61:7]
THE PARABLE of those who were graced with the
burden of the Torah, and thereafter failed to bear this
burden, is that of an ass that carries a load of books
[but cannot benefit from them]. Calamitous is the parable of
people who are bent on giving the lie to God's messages -for
Allah does not guide the people who are az-zalimeen!
[62:5]
And who could be more
ZALIM than he to whom
his Sustainer's messages are conveyed and who thereupon
turns away from them, forgetting all [the evil] that his
hands may have wrought? Behold, over their hearts have We
laid veils which prevent them from grasping the truth, and
into their ears, deafness; and though thou call them onto
the right path, they will never allow themselves
to be guided. [18:57]
or lest you say, "If a divine writ had been
bestowed from on high upon us, we would surely have followed
its guidance better than they did. And so, a clear
evidence of the truth has now come unto you from your
Sustainer, and guidance, and grace. Who, then, could be more
ZALIM than he who gives the lie to God's messages, and
turns away from them in disdain? We shall requite those who
turn away from Our messages in disdain with evil suffering
for having thus turned away! [6:157]
Zulm signifies (among other implicationss)
putting a thing in a place not its own; putting a thing in a
wrong place; it is by exceeding, or by falling short or
deviating from right place and/or right time [Raghib, Lane].
It may also signify putting a thing in wrong perspective;
doing what one ought not do and vice versa. The root of the
word ZULMAT (meaning 'darkness') is also that of ZULM. The
Quran (, the Guidance from Allah) is meant for taking
mankind out of every kind of darkness to the LIGHT. That is
why the Quran is also called An-Noor (i.e. the Light).
Zalimeen keep themselves deprived of this Light and stay in
the darkness of ignorance.
Allah does not guide Al-Fasiqeen
Those who do not judge matters in
accordance with what Allah revealed, are Al-fasiqoon.
Those who do not judge
in accordance with what Allah has revealed, are az-zalimoon
[5:47]
Allah does not guide Al-fasiqeen.
Thus it will
be more likely that people will offer testimony in
accordance with the truth-or else they will [have cause to]
fear that their oaths will be refuted by the oaths of
others. Be, then, conscious of God, and hearken [unto Him]:
for Allah does not guide the people who are al-fasiqeen [5:108]
Say: "If your
fathers and your sons and your brothers and your spouses and
your clan, and the worldly goods which you have acquired,
and the commerce whereof you fear a decline, and the
dwellings in which you take pleasure - [if all these] are
dearer to you than God and His Apostle and the struggle in
His cause, then wait until God makes manifest His wil1; and
[know that] Allah does not guide the people who are al-fasiqeen."
[9:24]
[It is these
hypocrites] who find fault with such of the believers as
give for the sake of God more than they are duty-bound
to give, as well as with, such as find nothing [to give]
beyond [the meagre fruits of] their toil, and who scoff at
them [all]. God will cause their scoffing to rebound on
themselves, and grievous suffering awaits them. [And]
whether thou dost pray [unto God] that they be forgiven or
dost not pray for them - [it will all be the same: for even]
if thou wert to pray seventy times that they be forgiven,
God will not forgive them, seeing that they are bent on
denying God and His Apostle. And Allah does not guide the
people who are al-fasiqeen. [9:79-80]
As for them
it is all the same whether thou dost pray that they be
forgiven or dost not pray for them: God will nor forgive
them - for, behold, Allah does not guide the people who are
al-fasiqeen. [63:6]
Now when
Moses spoke to his people, [it was this same truth that he
had in mind:] "O my people! Why do you cause me grief,
the while you know that I am an apostle of God sent unto
you?" And so, when they swerved from the right way, God let
their hearts swerve from the truth: for Allah does not
guide the people who are al-fasiqeen. [61:5]
FISQ, signifies coming forth of anything from its
integument (like coming forth of fresh ripe date from its
skin) [Raghib, Lane]. It may also signify not keeping within
the desirable bounds or limits (e.g. of law). Those who would
not like to keep within the bounds or limits prescribed by
Allah, will deprive themselves of Allah's Guidance.
Allah does not guide Al-Kafireen
Those who do not judge in accordance
with what Allah has revealed, are Al-kafiroon.
Those who do not judge
in accordance with what Allah has revealed, are az-zalimoon
[5:44]
Allah does not guide
the people who are al-kafireen.
Allah does
not guide the people who are al-kafireen.[2:264]
O APOSTLE!
Announce all that has been bestowed from on high upon thee
by thy Sustainer: for unless thou doest it fully, thou wilt
not have delivered His message [at all]. And God will
protect thee from [unbelieving] men: behold, God does not
guide people who refuse to acknowledge the truth. [5:67]
The
intercalation [of months] is but one more instance of
[their] refusal to acknowledge the truth [a means] by which
those who are bent on denying the truth are led astray. They
declare this [intercalation] to be permissible in one year
and forbidden in [another] year, in order to conform
[outwardly] to the number of months which God has hallowed:
and thus they make allowable what God has forbidden. Goodly
seems unto them the evil of their own doings, since God does
not grace with His guidance people who refuse to acknowledge
the truth. [9:37]
All this,
because they hold this world's life in greater esteem than
the life to come, and because God does not bestow His
guidance upon people who deny the truth. [16:107]
Verily, as
for those who will not believe in God's messages, God does
not guide them aright; and grievous suffering will be their
lot [in the life to come]. [16:104]
Behold, as
for those who come to believe, and then deny the truth, and
again come to believe, and again deny the truth, 'and
thereafter grow stubborn in their denial of the truth
- God will not grant them protection, nor will He guide them
in any way. [4:137]
Behold, those
who are bent on denying the truth and on evildoing-God will
indeed not forgive them, nor will He guide them onto a road
[4:168]
Others whom Allah does
not guide
Surely,
sincere obedience is due to Allah (alone) and (as for) those
who take guardians besides Him, (saying), We do not serve
them save that they may make us nearer to Allah, surely
Allah will judge between them in that in which they differ;
surely Allah does not intervene to guide anyone who is a
liar unto himself, thankless to his own detriment. [39:3]
And a
believing man of Firon's people who hid his faith said:
What! will you slay a man because he says: My Lord is Allah,
and indeed he has brought to you clear arguments from your
Lord? And if he be a liar, on him will be his lie, and if he
be truthful, there will befall you some of that which he
threatens you (with); surely Allah does not guide him who is
a transgressor, a persistent liar [40:28]
And there are
among them such as [pretend to] look towards thee: but canst
thou show the right way to the blind even though they cannot
see? [10:43]
Canst thou
then make the deaf to hear, or give direction to the blind
or to such as (wander) in manifest error? [43:40]
Have you then
considered him who takes his low desire for his god, and
Allah has made him err having knowledge and has set a seal
upon his ear and his heart and put a covering upon his eye.
Who can then guide him after Allah? Will you not then be
mindful? [45:23]
