Man's love for Allah
is all about striving hard to uphold His Deen and
obedience to Him, His Messenger or any system or
authority that implements His Rule. In return, Allah's
love for man is about being Gracious and
Beneficent to man and providing him protection
from the harmful consequences of his shortcomings or
inadvertent mistakes [See, 3:31-32, 5:54, 9:24]. In the
Quran, various types of people are mentioned whom Allah
does not love, i.e. who deprive themselves from the
special grace, beneficence and protection of Allah.
Allah does not
love those who turn away from His Guidance or transgress His prescribed limits,
or deviate from propriety or exceed from what is right
and appropriate (in the way of aggression or requital) [2:190,
5:87, 7:55]
Allah does
not love those who are corruptors [and disruptors of
balance, peace and order of the society and the world]
[2, 205, 5:67, 28:77]. [Those who do not give full
measure and full weight; or diminish to people their
rights and deprive them of what is their due (7:85,
11:85, 26:183); or hinder people form the path of Allah
or seek to make it crooked (7:86); or, are not benevolent to others so as to
create a beauteous economic balance in the society (28:77); or destroy
crops and the cattle (2:205); or create divisions among
the people (28:4) or sever ties of kinship (47:22) and
so on.]
Allah does not love those who do not appreciate His
Guidance, defy it, hide it, reject it or fall short in obeying
it. [3:32, 30:45], and drain and debilitate their human
potential [2:276]
Allah does not love those who do not put
things in their due place and proper perspective, and act wrongfully, unjustly,
tyrannically, or wickedly [3:57, 3:140, 42:40]
Allah does not love
those who exhibit unjustifiable pride, self-conceit, or
vanity arising from some imaginary or fancied excellence
in themselves; and those who boast, glorify, praise or
commend themselves or arrogate to themselves greatness
or nobility or superiority by reason of things extrinsic
to themselves such as wealth, rank, station, parentage,
relationships, ancestors and so on; and those who
consider themselves great as of the most excellent of
the creation and as having privileges which others have
not, and act proudly, haughtily or insolently[4:36, 31:18, 57:27,
16:23]
Allah does
not love those who are perfidious or treacherous and
betray their
pledges, duties and trusts;
and drain and debilitate their human potential [4:107,
8:58, 22:38]
Allah does
not love those who exult greatly in their hoards of
wealth and do not seek with what Allah has bestowed upon
them, the Abode of Hereafter and do not do good to
others as Allah has done good to them. (They keep their
wealth only to themselves and thus disrupt the economic
balance of the society) [28:76-77, 57:23]
Allah does
not love those who speak evil
(about others) in public except the one who has been
wronged talks about the injustice done to him [4:148]
Allah does not love those who act
extravagantly, exorbitantly, or immoderately
(and are unmindful, heedless or negligent of His
Commands) [6:141, 7:31]
