Rabb (The Lord)

The root of the word is R-B-B (رـ ب ـ ب), which has the following meanings/ implications:

1. It implies possession, owning, command and authority.

2. It also implies, rearing, fostering, bringing up, nourishing (e.g. a child), taking good care, acting as a guardian (e.g. to the utmost term of youth).

3. It also implies bringing a thing into completion in degrees.

4. It also implies increasing, correct disposal and completion (of a benefit or benefaction)

5. It also implies putting an affair into right or proper place, adjusting it, arranging it, and rightly disposing it, managing, conducting, regulating and establishing it firmly.

6. It also implies seasoning and scenting

RABB = The Lord = The Owner = The Ruler = The Master = The Rearer = The Nourisher = The Sustainer = The Maintainer = The Regulariser =  The One who fosters, rears, nourishes and nurtures things in such a manner as to make them attain one stage after another until they reach their goal of completion = = The One who regulates, cherishes, sustains, completes, accomplishes and bring things from their earliest state to that of highest perfection =  The One who brings things into existence, frames laws under which He propounds the shape which things must assume and the ratio and proportion in which various ingredients must combine with each other, regularizes different stages through which things have to pass on their way to perfection and completion, and sees to necessary provisions for them in their journey.

 

رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ [1:2]

رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا [38:66]

رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقَيْنِ وَرَبُّ الْمَغْرِبَيْنِ [55:17]

قُلْ أَغَيْرَ اللَّهِ أَبْغِي رَبًّا وَهُوَ رَبُّ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ  [6:164]

Importantt

And do not follow (blindly) any information of which you have no (direct) knowledge. (Using your faculties of perception and conception, you must verify it for yourself. (In the Court of your Lord,) you will be held accountable for your hearing, sight, and the faculty of reasoning."[17:36]
