Who shall be the losers, according to the Quran?

Those who violate Allah's ratified Covenant [,  whereby they pledged to dedicate their lives and their wealth for the cause of Allah  in return of a paradisiacal life  (9:111, 9:75-76, 13:19-21, 16:91-92, 16:95, 6:152, 48:10)] (3:77, 7:102, 8:55-56, 13:25),  and interrupt what Allah has ordained to be attained with it, and cause corruption [and disruption of balance, peace and order of the society and the world] [2:27]

Those to whom We have given the Book read and follow it as it ought to be read and followed. It is they who truly believe in it. And whoever does not believe in it this way - it is they, they who are the losers. (‘Tilawat’ = Recitation with understanding and then following it). [2:121]

And whoever desires a way of life other than the Submission (to the Commands of Allah), it shall not be taken from him with approval, and in the hereafter he shall be one of the losers. [3:85]

O you who believe! if you obey those who disbelieve they will turn you back upon your heels (from the Way of Allah), so you will turn back losers. [3:149]

…whoever takes the Shaitan for a guardian rather than Allah he indeed shall suffer a manifest loss. [4:119]

… Anyone who rejects belief, all his work will go vain and he will be among the losers in the Hereafter. [5:5]

Losers indeed are those who deny meeting with Allah, until the Hour suddenly comes upon them. Then they say, “We deeply regret wasting our lives in this world!” They will bear on their backs their burdens. What a miserable load! [6:31]

Lost indeed are those who kill their children foolishly, and forbid what Allah has provided them as sustenance. And they attribute their innovations to Allah!...[6:140]

Say, "Shall We inform you who the worst losers are in respect of their deeds?" They are the ones whose effort in the life of the world remains misdirected. And yet they think that they are doing good work. (They work in the wrong cause, contrary to the Divine Reminder). [18:103-104]

And among men is he who serves Allah (standing) on the verge, so that if good befalls him he is satisfied therewith, but if a trial afflict him he turns back headlong; he loses this world as well as the hereafter; that is a manifest loss. [22:11]

And indeed, if you obey a mortal like yourselves, you will surely be the losers! [23:34]

Those whose balance of good deeds will be light, will be the losers [7:9, 23:103]

Whom Allah keeps astray (according to His Laws) is the loser [7:178]

…those who indulge in futile play and vain discourse will be the losers [9:69]

…those who deny that they are destined to meet Allah (i.e. face His Law of Requital) will be the losers [10:45]

…those who deny Allah’s Revelations will be the losers [10:95]

Those who hinder people from the path of Allah and do not believe in the hereafter…they will be the greatest losers in the hereafter [11:19-22]

Those who do not believe in the eternity of the “Self”, will obviously deny the continuation of life after death. Our Law makes their deeds of instant gratification pleasing in their eyes and so they keep stumbling blindly to and fro. It is they whom the worst suffering awaits, and they will be the greatest losers in the Hereafter. [27:4-5]

… And (as for) those who believe in the falsehood and disbelieve in Allah, these it is that are the losers. [29:52]

You may worship whatever you wish besides Him.” Say, “The real losers are those who lose their “Selves” and their families on the Day of Resurrection. Ah, that is without doubt the obvious loss.”[39:15]

…, “If you fell for idolatry in any form, all your works will be nullified, and indeed you will be among the losers.” [39:65]

…"Verily, lost on this Day of Resurrection are those who had wasted their own ‘Self’ and their families." Oh, verily, the wrongdoers will fall into lasting suffering. [42:14]

O You who have chosen to be graced with belief! Let not your wealth nor your children distract you from the Reminder of Allah. For, any who does so, it is they, they who are the losers. [63:9] [also see 58:19]

The time which has passed, the entire history of mankind testifies that - Human efforts always ended in failure and man’s labour went to waste. After every step and at each stage he was unsuccessful and in loss. He has never been able to achieve his objective. There is however an exception. Who are the people who were successful, triumphant and victorious? These are the people who believe in the stability and strength of the unalterable principles of life and permanent values given by Allah the Almighty. They do righteous deeds which help sort out intricate problems of mankind, thereby creating equality (evenness) in society, which in turn develops every individual’s latent potentialities.  However, this cannot be done individually. It can only be achieved through collective efforts.  As such, these people live a collective life where everyone not only performs his own duty and does the work assigned to him, he also persuades his colleagues to do their best and to face the difficulties which come their way with fortitude and steadfastness.  Their common pursuit for truthfulness and firmness thus becomes a binding link between them.  They firmly and continuously adhere to this attitude, leaving behind their imprints for coming generations. These are the characteristics of the Jamaat, thus along ensuring their success and victory. The stories of the lives of other human beings are full of failures; and pages of history bear testimony to this fact! [103:1-3]

And do not follow (blindly) any information of which you have no (direct) knowledge. (Using your faculties of perception and conception, you must verify it for yourself. (In the Court of your Lord,) you will be held accountable for your hearing, sight, and the faculty of reasoning."[17:36]
