Conviction Without
Conduct in Lame |
The Quran frequently mentions
Eemaan (i.e. a firm
belief or conviction) along with
Amaal-e-Saliha (the Righteous Deeds). This
underscores the fact that "conviction without conduct is
lame". [2:82, 4:57, 4:122, 5:93, 7:42, 10:4, 10:9, 11:23,
13:29, 14:23, 16:97, 18:30, 18:88, 18:107]
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ
آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ
كَانَتْ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتُ الْفِرْدَوْسِ

الصَّالِحَاتِ
لَيَسْتَخْلِفَنَّهُم فِي الْأَرْضِ
كَمَا اسْتَخْلَفَ الَّذِينَ مِن
قَبْلِهِمْ وَلَيُمَكِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ
دِينَهُمُ الَّذِي ارْتَضَى لَهُمْ
وَلَيُبَدِّلَنَّهُم مِّن بَعْدِ
خَوْفِهِمْ أَمْنًا يَعْبُدُونَنِي
لَا يُشْرِكُونَ بِي شَيْئًا وَمَن
كَفَرَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فَأُوْلَئِكَ
هُمُ الْفَاسِقُونَ
(24:55)

And do not follow (blindly) any information of which you
have no (direct) knowledge. (Using your faculties of
perception and conception, you must verify it for yourself.
(In the Court of your Lord,) you will be held accountable for
